Longiano

A quiet village full of charm

A medieval village, built in a strategic position between the coast of the Romagna Riviera and the reliefs of the Cesena Apennines.

The historic center of Longiano, well preserved, offers numerous historical and artistic testimonies, places to be discovered. First of all, a visit to the Malatesta Castle and to the treasures of the Balestra Foundation are kept there: a very original collection of works by the greatest artists of the Italian twentieth century.
Other museums that are worth a visit are: the original Italian Cast Iron Museum, the Territory Museum, the Museum of Sacred Art and the Mask Gallery of the Commedia dell’Arte.

Longiano also boasts numerous important churches including the Sanctuary of the Holy Crucifix, the collegiate church of San Cristoforo and the baroque oratory of San Giuseppe.

A special mention goes to a small jewel of Longiano, the Petrella Theater, a typical example of Italian-style nineteenth-century theater, characterized by extraordinary acoustics.
